About Dr. Shradhdha Shah
My work began in clinical medicine. Over time, it expanded into a larger question.
What happens to a person when illness becomes part of their life rather than simply an episode to be treated?
I have been in clinical practice since 2007, working with people living with long-term health conditions, including autoimmune conditions, and with families of children and adults with special needs.
Alongside clinical practice, I trained in Systemic Therapy in Family Medicine at Oxford and completed a Master’s in Applied Medical Anthropology at University College London.
These experiences brought me increasingly towards questions of patient experience, qualitative research, patient involvement and the ways people make sense of illness within families, communities and healthcare systems.
